The Continued Pillaging of America

Another example of how Washington is clueless and only concerned with their own lil game was shown tonight when only 15 senators voted to get rid of the ridiculous $250 million bridge to nowhere in order to use that money to rebuild the Gulf Coast. I am not usually political but I couldn't let this go by. Here is the letter I sent to Senator Kerry:

I am very disappointed in Senator Kerry's actions today.

Today Senator Kerry had a chance to fix a grevious harm done to this country by the theiving administration that is lining their pockets with the hard earned tax money taken more and more from the American's that can least afford it. People unlike Senator Kerry who was born, and married into money, but who he claimed he fought for during his presidential run. Today he abandoned those people by refusing to stop the wasteful spending of pork-barrell projects.
Over $250 million is being spent connecting an island of 50 people to the mainland when:

1.) The people of the island have said they don't want or need the bridge
2.) The money is enough to buy each family on the island their own Lear Jet
3.) That money could be used to fix some of the bridges destroyed by the savage Hurricanes in the Gulf Coast.

Senator Kerry should explain why he thinks a bridge to 50 people is more important than helping to rebuild the shattered infrastructure of the Gulf Coast. Or perhaps Senator Kerry doesn't believe in fiscal responsibility like he claimed during the '04 campaign.

I suggest that everyone else writes their senator and express the outrage at a time when the federal goverment has the largest deficit in history, that we allow this wanton disrespect of the hard-working American's money to continue.
